Anderson Kingfisher model airplane plan

Anderson Kingfisher

RCM's Anderson Kingfisher

As with many models, the Anderson Kingfisher is based off real world planes.

Earl Anderson, a retired Boeing 747 pilot (and I suspect long since passed on) took about 9 years to design and develop the Kingfisher with the first flight in 1969. By 1990, there were approximately 15 of these homebuilts flying in various parts of the world. Richard Warner, of Warner Aviation took over selling the full size plans and was very helpful to Dennis Tapsfield supplying photos and drawings from which the model was designed an built. Another dead end as I am unable to reach Dennis, Warner Aviation, or even Earl Anderson.

EA-1 Kingfisher
1969 = 2pChwMAm;
Engine(s) 100 HP Continental O-200, also 115 HP Lycoming O-235;
Engine pylon-mounted above cabin.
span: 36'1"
length: 23'6"
load: 468# v: x/85/x
ceiling: 10,000'; ff: 4/24/69.

Marketed plans and kits for home-builders—more than 200 plans reportedly sold by early 1974.

Plan notes:
As a model this particular plan from 1990 is in excellent condition with three pages of concise details. It's a real challenge to build and to fly with kits running in the $300 USD range being quite common.

For a 16 pound aircraft you can see that it takes off, lands and flies very well for this 1/4 scale kit.

Love building and flying. I've always flown on private property and only been involved with clubs twice. I live in southern Ontario Canada near Niagara Falls. I build at least one plane a year. I am fairly new to 3D helicopters.

CoMIYC69

My name is Donnie and I've been flying planes, helicopters, racing cars and launching rockets since 1970 when I got my first U-control plane from Carl Goldberg models. I finally got my first RC in 1983 a Cessna 182 kit with four channels. My favorite planes are 3D of every sort of aircraft. Anything capable of punching holes in the sky. IRL I work with programming and I use the skills I have to build my own designs and plans. Thank you for the donations.
