SOLARIS (25_35) - by Eduardo Belmonte model airplane plan

SOLARIS (25_35) - by Eduardo Belmonte

Eduardo Belmonte's SOLARIS (25_35) - by Eduardo Belmonte

Dear Fred and Aerofred friends, let me present you a very nice project called "Solaris", a profile stunt flapped trainer with a wingspan of 40.16 inches and fuse lenght of 28.25"

This plane is targeted around .25 to .35 engines, with a light .40 beeing a possibilty, but getting the plane in the strong side.

Engines tested and used in the "Solaris" were: Magnum 25, Fox 35 Stunt, Fox 36 X, ST G 21/29, Enya 25 SS, CB 25, Magnum PRO 36 and also an OS 40 LA, all with great sucess.

This very nice project was started in 2005 by a very well known and respected brazillian pilot and modeller, also very respected in the South and Pan American C/L arena called Eduardo Belmonte. Eduardo was and is a very talented pilot that competed intensely during the 70´s in the brazillian AMA FAST Combat category, in F2B Aerobatics and also in speed events.

His conquests in the hobby sport were many indeed, mainly in the Fast Combat (AMA) Scene where he was known as a fierce and feared competitor. He also was noted for very good success also in F2B aerobatics and in speed and in the racing scene at the time.

This particular plane is its third version, and was almost released by the Hobbylandia Model Company From Rio de Janeiro as a kit, but saddly the company closed the doors few months after and before the kit could be released.

The plans presented to you had been prepared by the designer of the Company, and also contains the Hobbylandia´s logo on.

The plane had 3 versions in its history and development, been the mark III presented here the smoothest in the flight department.

The Solaris I is presented in the pictures by a camouflage scheme with german Markings, The Solaris II its picturesd in the wine color scheme with a checkered stripe on wings and this one used an OS 40 LA for power and its was a hot performer, and the Solaris III, the final one is the one presented in the plans and also in the the rest of the images.

This design had a very noble background behind it. At the time Eduardo and wis wife Doris thought a way to help needy youngsters with the use of the hobby, and the Solaris was a way and the instrument to materialize this goal. So with this in mind The design was started with the following targets: a robust, easy to fly, strong structured and easy for reparation for withstand hard landings and take offs and the inevitable harsh from the begginers pilots, and the plane also needed to be a good flyer in windy flying conditiosn since the flying track was at sea side and this kind of climate is very commom in the city of Vitória in Espirito Santo (ES) State.

The social project was named "Esperança" (that means HOPE in english) and was tought to teach this needy youngster the chance to develop new knowledge with all the science of build and flying a controline model airplane, and with this in mind getting and giving a chance to this minors to get out of violence, out of addiction and dealing of drugs and alcohol. The project had six minors in his 3 years of duration. One of them was killed in criminal envolvment, one lost his life to a Cancer battle and an third became an Doctor. So this noble plane project was a seed to plant a little of hope, love and also good goals for the future.

Hope that your members and readers can appreciate and materialize all the gifts and good energy that have involved this beautiful project.

3D Printed Parts
Order 3D Printed Parts for the SOLARIS (25_35) - by Eduardo Belmonte

General Information

3D printing allow us to design not only complete airplane models but also parts to complete balsa, foam or even composite model airplanes.

Parts can be designed and printed to fit exactly a model you have or a model you plan to build, even if you are not building this model to the full size plan.

3D Printing, and 3D CAD allow us to create the actual parts to fit on our models but also allow us to create negative molds where we can make composite parts.

I´m adding this service to all the plan listings on the site knowing that not every part you imagine or need can be done, knowing this, jobs will be evaluated case by case and a price estimate will be given on request.

What can be done with 3D Printing:

  • Canopies
  • Cowls
  • Wheel Pants
  • Landing Gears
  • Wing Ribs
  • Motor Mounts
  • Servo Trays
  • Servo Covers
  • Wings
  • Fuselages
  • Complete Models

Full Models, Wings or Fuselages

It is possible to design a complete model for you but keep in mind that this is a lengthy process, many hours are needed to design and test a fully 3D Printed model. The finished model cannot have the same internal structure of the wooden made counterpart because it wouldn´t be possible to print it, it would have to have a structure like the models you can see in the 3D Printed Kits section of the site.

From the outside they are very loyal to the plan but still they have to be printed in sections, typically to fit a 250X210X200 mm cube that is the printer maximum build volume.

3D Printed planes are also heavier than light balsa models, all built up and ready to fly, with an electric power system they are generally a little lighter than the same model if it were powered by a glow engine. Please have a look at the 3D Printed kits section to have an idea on this.

Pricing

I will calculate a price upon request, please contact me here mentioning this PlanID: 103123 and the job you wish me to do.
