Berkeley B-25 model airplane plan

Berkeley B-25

Berkeley Model Co.'s Berkeley B-25

I don't think I could put so much work into an aircraft and fly it control line. With today's modern technology conversion should be simple.

Plan includes detailed drawings for retracting landing gear. Quite interesting but consider that the actuators are electric a conversion for motor type may be a better build.

1956 Berkeley B-25 "Mitchell" scale R/C model. General Jimmy Doolittle's "Tokyo Raider". The plans and box state that it is copyright 1956, designed by Don McGovern, engineered by Bill Effinger, 42" wingspan, 32" overall, 3-wheel retractable-shock mounted landing gear, operating wing flaps, full size detailed plans.

The plans and instructions are clear and readable.

Love building and flying. I've always flown on private property and only been involved with clubs twice. I live in southern Ontario Canada near Niagara Falls. I build at least one plane a year. I am fairly new to 3D helicopters.

My name is Donnie and I've been flying planes, helicopters, racing cars and launching rockets since 1970 when I got my first U-control plane from Carl Goldberg models. I finally got my first RC in 1983 a Cessna 182 kit with four channels. My favorite planes are 3D of every sort of aircraft. Anything capable of punching holes in the sky. IRL I work with programming and I use the skills I have to build my own designs and plans. Thank you for the donations.

Berkeley Models B-25 Mitchell Ghostsailor on 21/12/2016 23:23
In all the time that I have been a member of Aero Fred, I have never seen a true Description of these kits. The plans shown for the B-25, or the P-38, the B-17, the Aero Commander, and the AJ-1 Savage, and lastly the SBD Dauntless, are ALL the HOLLOW LOG type of construction. This means that major parts of the airplane are carved from Blocks of Balsa. This B-25 has the Fuse carved from two long blocks to speed the process of building. There are no formers, just a lot of elbow grease and sandpaper required. The Engine Nacels are also carved too. The other kits that I mention have numerous carved blocks as well, you only build the wings and tail feathers on these kits, and NONE of them can be converted to RC, they are all made for CL only. Sorry if this disappoints anybody.

Thanks for the info. I always thought the formers were missing
