Taylorcraft BF-12-65 model airplane plan

Taylorcraft BF-12-65

RCModeler magazine's Taylorcraft BF-12-65

The Taylorcraft BF-12-65 was one of the aircraft variants produced by Taylorcraft in the 30s and 40s, all high-wing, 2-place (side by side seating) civil aircraft designed for sport general aviation. The model presented here is a 62" span scale model designed by Jim Zarembski, long time electric columnist for RCM magazine, and whose construction article was printed by RCM in July 1984. Jim has done a really
terrific job designing and preparing the plans for this model, and careful construction will reward the builder with a great flying sport aircraft. The model was originally designed for electric propulsion using a geared brushed Leisure motor with NiCd batteries; a modern propulsion system could use a suitably sized
brushless outrunner motor (175-225 watts) and LiPo batteries. Controls are throttle, rudder, elevator, and optional (recommended!) ailerons. Reminiscent of the AstroFlight Porterfield Collegiate kit, the Taylorcraft
BF-12-65 should provide equally terrific sport scale flying performance!
