Argus is a competition control line 'precision aerobatics', or "stunt", aircraft designed in the late 50s by
Ohio's Steve Wooley, a young man with uncommon talent for design as well as competitive abilities.
After winning its class at an AMA Nationals and gaining a place on the US Team, Steve competed with the Argus at
the 1960 World Championships in Hungary where his Fox 35-powered plane was acclaimed by the competitors and foreign press as "the
most beautiful designed and...
Plans I drew up for an 800 mm wingspan Ultra Stick. Flies very well and fully aerobatic. Prototype came in at 335 grams including 1000 Mah 3 Cell Lipo.
Plan has been printed at 50% scale to build a 400mm version. I have completed the smaller one using 1.5mm balsa for fuselage and wing ribs with 1mm balsa for skinning and cap strips and 3mm x 3mm for control surfaces and 1mm x 3mm for bracing. Will update once I have flown the 400mm version.

This plan is for a 60 inch wingspan free flight glider published in Aeromodeller in July of 1949. The design is a tail-less flying wing with tabs for trimming, designed to be "hand-towed" to altitude, then released. The complex airfoil is hard to build and cover correctly. This sailplane was originally covered with tissue paper and doped.
It would be possible to adapt this plan to the tiny new 2.4 ghz receivers and make this a nice sport RC sailplane.
