Terms of Service.
Please read the Plans Printing Service Terms of Use before placing an order.

What are you ordering:

You are ordering a print from the main PDF file in this listing, it´s exactly like taking this file in a thumb drive to a local print shop and ask them to make a print.

About the plan source:

You should verify if the source file has the quality for the type of construction you intend to do, we will print the file without any kind of enhancement or scaling. To know if the file is good please download it and open it on a pdf viewer like Adobe pdf viewer and set the view level or zoom level to 100% or 1:1 or full scale or actual size, depending on which version or pdf viewer you are using. Also, using the measuring tool make sure all the parts fit together and have the correct size.
In doubt please ask us for an opinion.

Plans Scaling:

We can scale this plan for you. But please keep in mind that if this plan is not vector, if you enlarge it too much the quality will be degraded.

You will receive:

  • Laser Printed plan on good quality Bond paper or/and Tracing Paper and/or Polyester sheet of the PDF file from this listing, depending on what you have purchased.
  • Rolled sheets, up to 5 in the same cardboard tube.
  • Envelope, up to 5 sheets per envelope.
  • Articles and Instructions if they are available and if you order them.
  • Air Mail, Priority, Priority Insured or Normal mail, according to your choice.

About our printers:

We use professional quality laser OCÉ and Canon printers/copiers, these printers use toner, not ink so the printings will be durable and waterproof.

About the different media types:

Bond Paper: White Bond paper, 80 grams per square meter.
Bond Tracing paper: Bond Tracing paper, 90 grams per square meter.
Polyester film: High quality polyester sheet incredibly durable, will resist cuts and glue and can be washed (I use it as sail material on my RC sailboats).

We charge by print length (914mm or 91,4cm or 36in. by the length of the print)
This means that a plan 120cm by 150cm will be charged two times 150cm because it will be printed in two tiles, a plan 91cm by 150cm will be charged one time its length or 150cm and a plan 91cm by 40cm will be charged 40cm.
The system will try to fit a plan in the 91,4cm of the printer width in order to reduce the costs or print length to the maximum. This is the same charging method used in any printshop.

We will use paper or waxed paper padded envelopes for folded plans and hard cardboard tubes with plastic ends for rolled plans, depending on your choice.

We ship from Portugal, Europe and use the reliable Portuguese mail system CTT.
CTT has delivery agreements with different entities on each country so if you´re from the US you may have your order delivered by USPS, in the UK may be Royal Mail and so on.
Orders are dispatched on the next or second business day after purchase.

If you still receive a plan you don´t like we can accept it back if it is in good conditions but we will not refund the postage from the initial order, you will have to pay the postage to return the plan to us and a 30% re-stock fee will be applied so please, in doubt, please ask us for an opinion.

3D Printed Parts
Order 3D Printed Parts for the MISTRAL

General Information

3D printing allow us to design not only complete airplane models but also parts to complete balsa, foam or even composite model airplanes.

Parts can be designed and printed to fit exactly a model you have or a model you plan to build, even if you are not building this model to the full size plan.

3D Printing, and 3D CAD allow us to create the actual parts to fit on our models but also allow us to create negative molds where we can make composite parts.

I´m adding this service to all the plan listings on the site knowing that not every part you imagine or need can be done, knowing this, jobs will be evaluated case by case and a price estimate will be given on request.

What can be done with 3D Printing:

  • Canopies
  • Cowls
  • Wheel Pants
  • Landing Gears
  • Wing Ribs
  • Motor Mounts
  • Servo Trays
  • Servo Covers
  • Wings
  • Fuselages
  • Complete Models

Full Models, Wings or Fuselages

It is possible to design a complete model for you but keep in mind that this is a lengthy process, many hours are needed to design and test a fully 3D Printed model. The finished model cannot have the same internal structure of the wooden made counterpart because it wouldn´t be possible to print it, it would have to have a structure like the models you can see in the 3D Printed Kits section of the site.

From the outside they are very loyal to the plan but still they have to be printed in sections, typically to fit a 250X210X200 mm cube that is the printer maximum build volume.

3D Printed planes are also heavier than light balsa models, all built up and ready to fly, with an electric power system they are generally a little lighter than the same model if it were powered by a glow engine. Please have a look at the 3D Printed kits section to have an idea on this.

I will calculate a price upon request, please contact me here mentioning this PlanID: 99113 and the job you wish me to do.

Have a detailed description of its construction ?
Mitral jodel18 on 19/03/2017 07:07
Sorry, but I have not a instrucción manual.
Templates update 321PEST! on 17/09/2017 18:51
The templates are missing a few ribs and the F-3 is several parts from what I can ascertain from the plans at least 4 parts to F-3 . The ribs I used an airfoil website to make patterns for the needed ribs by using a Eppler 392 and the length. Haven't built the wing yet so not sure how it will come out. I will keep the patterns I made so I can add them here .. I may make it Electric. Working that out as I go . I found an old add for the Mistral and it gives specs. RC Soaring Digest Vol.4 No.11 November 87 cover and a small article further in the text.
Changes I made to the plane 321PEST! on 26/04/2019 18:43
Instead of string activation on the spoilers I added micro servos to each. with Multiplex Connector joining both servos in to one connector so the wiing can be removed quickly . The wing tips are joined with a Carbon rod epoxied to the wing tip and a brass tube in place in the main wing. about a 4mm rod . The Horizontal Stab I used two 4mm carbon rods instead of iron with brass sleeves on both sides . Next time I would use sleeves on one side only and epoxy the rods in . The bell crank I made my own with 1/16 plywood and a 4mm carbon tube with a section of steel connecting rod as a pivot cut flush to the rudder sides and small squares of 1/16 ply on both sides of the rudder to mount the Bell crank pivots . I used a 5-32 rod and clevis with a loop in it to connect the bell crank to the Stab . Nextime I would make the connection with a ply and balsa composite rod. The important thing is to reduce tail weight as much as practical . The Wing Dowel was mounted the spar in a plywood ring to keep it strong. I used two 4 gram digital servos for spoilers and Two digital 9 gram MKS servos mounted in the same spot as drawn but for to aft instead of across. a seven channel Spektrum receiver with a satellite in the tail boom Telemetry Vario . The Big change was the Himax C 3522-0700 I added with a 3S 1800 MAH battery 40 amp ESC Turning a 12X8 prop. (conservative) To fit it in I extended the Nose 2" in front of cockpit and blended it with the lines and used a 42mm spinner . The canopy was made with 1/32 ply on a balsa frame. The faring behind the canopy is built on top of the wing out of strips of 1/8 " balsa. The plane flies very well . Fly weight is 50.30 OZ. or 1.4 kilo . not bad for 3 meters. It flies so slow and is easy to speed up. just a dream . Spoilers are very effective but I went the wrong way on programing the elev / spoiler mix and stuck it in the edge of the pond. Only damage was some warping from water in one wing and the esc fried. it floats ... Their is some room for improvement in weight and the wing structure . Ribs are a little fragile on the tail edge. Bob
